Bio
My name is Navid and I am a bioanalytical chemist specializing in LC-MS technology, currently working as a staff scientist at the University of Maryland College Park. My PhD training was on targeted bioanalysis , during which I used liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for quantitative analysis of small molecules. Post graduation, I received training on intact protein analysis using high resolution mass spectrometry. The latest modality I worked with was oligonucleotides (siRNA) using ion-paring reverse-phase liquid chromatography tandem triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. Since 2014, I have been using chromatography, mass spectrometry, and automation to study what happens at the molecular level when a disease develops, when it's intervened by a 'drug' or 'drug' like entity (what drug does to the body) and what happens to those entities (what body does to the drug). I am fascinated by "Mass Spectrometers" and where the field evolved in the last decade. Progress ceases when curiosity wears out. There is no end to learning and I feel fortunate to always find learning new things exciting. Thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
